When Jamie and I started this blog we had a vision to educate and create awareness about the current state of our food supply. To act as ambassadors in assisting real people re-learn about real food, to provide real food recipes and cooking instructions and to assist our  readers in finding real food suppliers and resources. We wanted better for our families and through our own transitions wanted to show others that they could do it too.

Our vision has since turned into a mission …. not only do we want to educate and make aware we want to develop programs that will assist our lower income neighbors and elderly in obtaining real affordable food for their families and tables.

Our Mission

  • To open a local food-coop with weekly delivery points to low income neighbors and our shut-in elderly … providing affordable farm fresh produce, dairy and eggs to our communities.
  • To assist the elderly in providing medical care claim reviews and assisting them in receiving the proper treatment and care needed.
  • To assist the homeless in search for shelter and work programs
  • To assist the addicted in search of rehabilitation, shelter and aiding them with the proper resources to once again become productive, healthy members of society.

We have already taken our first steps by starting this blog and supporting organizations such as Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution and Share Our Strength. But, as you can see, we have a long road ahead of us and with readers and supporters such as yourself I know together we can grow into ambassadors for our Mission.

I have to leave you with a few quotes from one of my most beloved Presidents, John F. Kennedy that are inspirational in developing ourselves as ambassadors on a mission:

On September 12, 1962 President Kennedy was quoted at Rice University as saying:

“We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy – but because they are hard! Because that challenge is one we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone and one we intend to win!”

Another of my favorite John F. Kennedy  quotes:

Change is the law of life; and those who look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future.”

So, my dear readers, all we ask of you is to continue to read this blog, share it with your friends and family and participate in discussion … we are here to assist you in your real food transition and would love to hear your suggestions on how you think we can become ambassadors on a Mission.

Like JFK said, “there are risks and costs to a program of action. But they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction.”
